Jacuzzi-In-A-Cave

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

Well, Karen did NOT disappoint me on my birthday! If you read my last post, I told you she left before me to visit her family in Israel, and I joined her right before my birthday and our 1st year wedding anniversary.

She told me she had several yet-to-be-revealed “gifts” for me when I got there.

WOW! Besides the camel ride (see picture), the hot tub in the cave, romantic dinners (she had a chef come in and prepare us an 8-course meal.  It was incredible!   She surprised me by finding a gorgeous man-made rock cave, which had all the modern amenities.    Inside was our own private 6 person jacuzzi that was also built nto it’s own cave-like cove.   It was a fun, VERY unique evening to be sure!

Again…   Wow… I have an amazing wife who really knows how to make anything an adventure.

Hey! Help me out! Send me some ideas that will WOW HER for her birthday coming up in May!!! I’m getting better, but I want to at least “top” her ONCE! (smile!) So, tell me your story or send me your ideas!  PLEASE! :)

Happy Thanksgiving & Thank You, Veterans!

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

This has been a very busy few weeks for us all. Karen and I spent some time in Florida learning about helping clients eligible or who soon will be eligible for Medi-Cal. Preserving and protecting assets for the elderly is an important part of planning that, the sooner it’s handled, the more you can save.

This month, we celebrated Veteran’s Day (Nov 11) and the birthday of the United States Marine Corp Nov 10). Semper Fi! In 2010, the President signed a proclamation that henceforth November would also honor our military and their families. The families are the “invisible” servants to our country because they give up so much so their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, dads and moms are able to defend and protect our country and its common interests worldwide.

Elephant in the Room!

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

In case any of you have wondered… no, marriage to me has not “mellowed” Karen’s penchant for fun, wild and crazy, and unusual adventures.

Sunday, we had a blast during a photo shoot… with an African elephant!

One of Karen’s friends is writing a book, full of photography of exotic animals, and she invited us along for the day to photograph the lovable pachyderm who by the way enjoys loving handling by her owner.

After being warned that rattlesnakes were prevalent in the area, we made our way through biting red ants and the heat (I’ll take the heat!  Ouch!) to get to the location where the photo shoot would take place.

We stood underneath the trunk and were amazed that next to the tough, spiny skin of the elephant’s appendage were the beautiful, absolutely pristine tusks, which were smooth as glass.  (The “spines” on the trunk were actually very thick, coarse hairs.)

When I told my friends about the jaunt, they were incredulous that we’d gotten that close to such a huge, wild, unpredictable animal.  Guess it’s a good thing I have my estate plans in order!

That brings me to ask you to stay tuned for this week’s feature article.  Having everything in order can make things so much easier for those taking care of your affairs during your incapacitation or after you are no longer with us.  Read the story of how someone close to me lost her mom and, three months later, she and her siblings are still trying to locate insurance policies, the location of her safety deposit box… and more…

It’s a situation that could have so easily been avoided and in a family who KNEW that it should be done, but made the wrong choices for all the “right” reasons.

Until next time…
